I have pretty good luck with avoiding error messages if I convert mp3 files to m4a files directly in iTunes BEFORE opening Chapter and Verse rather than relying on Chapter and Verse to convert the mp3 files to m4a files. If any of you have already been using this already, please feel free to share your tips for use!įYI : I've noticed that Chapter and Verse has questionable compatibility with iTunes 10. I have only been experimenting with this software a few hours, so these may not be the best settings, but the output I've been getting has been pretty good so far (no noticeable loss). The actual creation of the audiobook is fairly intuitive beyond that. The output of files will be 64 kbps, 44.100 kHz, Mono. Make the custom settings match the settings assigned in iTunes. In the Default AAC Encoder Settings box, choose the "Custom" setting.Go to Tools > Options > Conversion Options. In the popup box that will appear, make your settings: 128 kbps, 44.100 kHz, Mono, and check optimize for voice (optional).Select "AAC Encoder" and "Custom" setting. Where it says "When you insert a CD" click on the "Import Settings" button. Therefore, I recommend taking the following steps to adjust the settings. Please be aware that the default settings are not necessarily ideal for good quality output. Now, this isn't the ideal solution as you must first convert your files to AAC format (m4a), but Chapter and Verse CAN do this for you-and you can easily delete these extra files when you are done with your project. After some google-fu, I found an answer: Chapter and Verse. Who knows what I'm doing wrong, who can help me figure this out?ĮTA: I think I found the problem! I don't normally use the Windows Media Player and had the feature turned off! I've turned it on and reinstalled iTunes and Quicktime (as the website states C&V needs it) and now it's working!Īs you may recall, I was searching for a program that would create chaptered audiobooks on a PC yesterday. A quick google search tells me that C&V sometimes has problems with newer iTunes versions, even eosrose stated in their C&V tutorial that iTunes 10 is making things more difficult, so I found myself a copy of iTunes 9, deinstalled iTunes 12, installed iTunes 9 - and now neither iTunes nor C&V works. I've downloaded the latest version of Chapter & Verse, I've installed both Quicktime and iTunes, and. I'd really like to create my own podbooks and I've read up on the tutorials posted in this community, and the consensus seems to be that Chapter and Verse is an excellent application for that kind of thing, even with using Windows?! I'm close to finishing a medium sized project that consists of several fics, varying from 25-65 minutes, all belonging to a series.
